(senswork: Johnson City, TN) -- senswork will showcase innovative solutions for industrial quality control at IMTS 2026, Sept. 14–19 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Two exhibits at Booth 135470 in the German Pavilion will demonstrate how AI-powered machine vision and high-resolution 3D inspection enable reliable quality assurance in manufacturing.

AI-based detection of surface cracks with Cognex In-Sight 3800

In the first exhibit, senswork demonstrates the automatic detection and classification of surface cracks using the Cognex In-Sight 3800 Edge Learning smart camera. Integrated AI technology enables reliable inspection even with natural variations between individual housing.

The Edge Learning technology learns characteristic defect features and can thus identify and evaluate surface cracks with high accuracy. The exhibit illustrates how embedded AI systems make inspection processes more robust and reduces the effort required for setting up and maintaining inspection systems.

3D inspection of sealing beads with Micro-Epsilon surfaceCONTROL

The second exhibit will demonstrate how sealing tracks on automotive components can be reliably inspected using high-precision 3D measurement technology. This is where Micro-Epsilon’s high-resolution 3D Snapshot scanner, surfaceCONTROL, comes into play, capturing the entire component surface in a single scan.

The solution captures the complete 3D profile of the sealing beads and checks quality characteristics such as geometry, height, width, and continuity. This ensures that the seal has been applied correctly and meets the quality requirements of automotive production.

The complete three-dimensional capture enables a precise evaluation of the seal’s geometry and lays the foundation for reliable quality control.

Machine vision for quality inspection

With these two exhibits, senswork presents practical solutions for industrial quality assurance. They demonstrate how AI-based image processing and high-resolution 3D snapshot technology can contribute to process reliability, increased efficiency, and reduced scrap.
