(ANSI: New York) -- The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) wishes to invite all interested parties to register for World Standards Week 2011 (WSW), to be held Oct. 11–14, 2011, in Washington, DC. Each year, WSW brings together members of the standards- and conformity-assessment community as well as leaders from all industry sectors to celebrate standardization and the critical role it plays in all aspects of commerce and everyday life.

ANSI-ESO Conference on transatlantic partnerships
In addition to the U.S.-oriented ANSI meetings, ANSI has organized a conference in conjunction with the European Standards Organizations (ESOs) to foster networking and an open dialogue on the use of standards and compliance programs in such areas as e-mobility, electric vehicles, energy, and security. Open to all interested stakeholders, the ANSI-ESO Conference will be held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Wed., Oct. 12.
