(DCS: Troy, MI) -- Dimensional Control Systems (DCS), a provider of quality management software solutions and consulting services, has announced that DCS vice president Donald Jasurda will address product design and manufacturing professionals at the 2012 International Forum on DFMA. The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island, June 12–13, 2012.

Jasurda will present “The Correlation of As-Built Products to As-Designed Models: Closing the Loop on Dimensional Measurement Results to Simulation Predictions” at 10:30 a.m. on Wed., June 13, kicking off Session 6 “Product Design.”
He will describe how a closed-loop dimensional engineering approach enables ongoing analyses of manufacturability and assembly early in the design stage of a product. He will show how users test out multiple solutions through visual simulation, then validate them through automated as-built reporting. With real-life examples, Jasurda will demonstrate how such a system drives product quality all the way from design engineering to production—a process that is, by definition, integral to design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
“As engineering and manufacturing organizations face ever-tightening development cycles and budgets, a closed-loop dimensional engineering system trims development times for new and enhanced product programs,” says Jasurda. “I look forward to describing how such a system supports a long-term DFMA approach by enabling best practices to be validated, captured and reused on future programs for both engineering simulation and manufacturing.”
The 2012 International Forum on DFMA brings together manufacturing, research, and engineering leaders to share expert opinions on DFMA and new trends in product development. For more information about the International Forum on DFMA, visit www.dfma.com/forum.
