AIAG Conference Spotlights Automotive Best Practices

The Automotive Industry Action Group will host its first Best Practices Summit in Novi, Michigan.

The event will be held June 7–8 at the Rock Financial Showplace and will coincide with Quality Expo Detroit. The summit will include three session tracks: Product Lifecycle Management, Quality, and the Global Metrology Congress. The PLM track will be held June 7 and will include discussions about collaborative efforts in future directions for original equipment manufacturers, interoperability, engineering visualization, digital manufacturing and engineering change management best practices.

The Quality track, to be held June 8, will include core sessions for Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, measurement systems analysis, SPC and the production parts approval process. It will include discussions about best practices at DaimlerChrysler Corp., Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp. New processes to heat-treat to ensure quality, reliability and component durability will be highlighted.

The Global Metrology Congress will also be held June 8, and will include panelists from DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Ogihara America Corp. and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
