Body
The Automotive Industry Action Group’s second Early Warning Standards—Warranty Conference will examine escalating automotive warranty costs. The event will be held June 6 at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, Michigan. Panel discussions and presentations will deal with improving working relationships, communications and processes to lower spiraling warranty costs. This will include addressing progress made on a standard to reduce the detection-to-correction time for faulty parts. According to AMR Research, original equipment manufacturers and suppliers reported almost $13 billion in warranty claims last year, an 8-percent increase from 2004.

Keynote speaker Eric Arnum, of “Warranty Week,” will summarize trends in automotive warranty data over the last three years. Other speakers include executives from General Motors Corp., Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., Toyota Motor Manufacturing N.A. Inc. and Autoliv, among others.
