Metris Announces Triple Acquisition

Metris, a Belgian automotive and aerospace metrology-products producer, recently announced the simultaneous acquisition of LK Ltd., 3D Scanners Ltd. and Arc Second Inc.Metris reports that the acquisitions will allow it to offer fully integrated hardware and software solutions that cover the complete range of 3-D inspection tasks. In addition to CMM touch-probe technology, Metris offers 3-D optical metrology products in fixed and portable applications for automotive and aerospace applications. Its technologies use native single-point and point-cloud software and are supported by an extensive after-market service organization.

LK Ltd., a London-based company, is a CMM manufacturer. It produces Camio Studio, a CMM software suite. Arc Second, a Virginia-based company, is a developer and manufacturer of indoor GPS positioning and tracking systems that enable the precise factorywide location of multiple objects. 3-D Scanners is based in London and manufactures noncontact 3-D scanners for articulated and robot-arm CMMs.
