The report researches, analyzes, and scores eight vendors against written and quantitative multidimensional criteria for Industrial IoT platforms, measuring current offering, strategy, and market presence. Forrester named Siemens as a Leader for Siemens’s MindSphere IoT platform. According to the report, “MindSphere offers a comprehensive array of capabilities to simplify routine monitoring, management, and interaction with connected devices, even at scale. MindSphere is delivered, as a service, from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and (in China) Alibaba and can also be installed in other environments. Developer support and training are comprehensive and localized, and the vendor offers them in 13 languages.” Siemens received the highest possible scores in the support for digital industrial platform, execution road map and average deal size criteria and the highest score in the market presence category. “While these reports represent a specific analyst view, we believe having MindSphere listed as a Leader in the Forrester Wave report demonstrates important trends in the marketplace and are key indicators where the market for Industrial IoT is heading,” says Ray Kok, senior vice president of cloud application services for Siemens Digital Industries Software. “To us, it is clear that market consolidation is happening, consistent leaders are now emerging and that Siemens with MindSphere and Industrial Edge are solidly positioned as part of this. We will work to build on this momentum to continue to help our customers achieve their goals with IIoT.” MindSphere, the industrial IoT as a service solution from Siemens, was developed by Siemens for applications in the context of the Internet of Things.
