Hosted in AWS GovCloud, the new 1factory GOV Environment has achieved FedRAMP Moderate Equivalence through an independent assessment by a FedRAMP-accredited third-party assessment organization (3PAO). The environment provides manufacturers with a secure cloud platform for managing quality processes, inspections, supplier quality, and production data while aligning with the cybersecurity expectations of the U.S. Department of Defense supply chain.
Nicholas Kelly, vice president of product at 1factory, says, “At 1factory, being best in class at quality control and QMS software isn’t enough on its own. That software needs to be built on a foundation where data integrity and security are just as important. Our recent deployment of our FedRAMP environment reflects that priority, giving defense manufacturers the same quality platform they trust, now built for CMMC 2.0 and CUI requirements.”
Purpose-built environments for every manufacturer
Recognizing that manufacturers have various regulatory and security requirements, 1factory offers three cloud deployment environments:
• General purpose environment: Designed for commercial manufacturers seeking a secure, scalable cloud quality management platform.
• Validated environment: Designed for life sciences and medical device manufacturers requiring software validation to support regulated manufacturing environments.
• GOV environment: Hosted in AWS GovCloud and independently assessed to achieve FedRAMP Moderate Equivalence, supporting aerospace and defense manufacturers handling CUI and pursuing CMMC 2.0 compliance.
Each environment delivers the same comprehensive 1factory quality platform, enabling manufacturers to manage first article inspection (FAI), inspection planning, statistical process control (SPC), incoming quality, supplier quality, nonconformance management, CAPA, audits, and document control from a single connected platform.
Supporting the defense industrial base
Manufacturers throughout the defense industrial base face increasing pressure to strengthen cybersecurity while improving quality and operational efficiency. By offering a FedRAMP Moderate Equivalent environment, 1factory enables organizations to replace disconnected spreadsheets and legacy quality systems with a modern cloud platform designed for today’s manufacturing challenges.
Organizations using the GOV environment may request supporting security documentation, including a letter of attestation (LoA) and other assessment artifacts, under a nondisclosure disclosure agreement to assist with their own compliance efforts.
