ECM Teams with NPL to Introduce Preparatory Course for CMS Level-One Certification

(ECM: Topsfield, MA) -- ECM Global Measurement Solutions has teamed with the United Kingdom’s National Physical Laboratory to produce and market a comprehensive preparatory course for the CMS Level-One Certification examination. The course is offered to professionals in the field of 3D portable metrology, and designed to assist and inform applicants of the topics covered by the exam. The Level-One Certification exam is a proctored, online assessment consisting of approximately 200 multiple-choice questions covering foundational theory and practice common to most portable 3D metrology devices. The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) is the issuing body for the certification, and has approved ECM as a certified proctor site.

The 2.5-day preparatory course will review the five key knowledge areas covered in the assessment:
1. Basic principles in interpreting engineering documents
2. Effects of equipment and environment on measurement
3. Factors in establishing a measurement and documentation plan
4. Measurement Operations
5. Data analysis and Ethics
