(ASQ: Milwaukee) -- Organizations need to continually manage risks in their supply-chain operations. A no-cost webinar offered by the American Society for Quality (ASQ)—the world’s largest network of quality resources and experts—spotlights how ISO 28000—“Specification for security management systems for the supply chain,” from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), can help organizations assess their supply chains for adequate security measures and regulatory compliance.

This recorded webinar is now available with registration via Intro to ISO 28000: Security of the Global Supply Chain. The topic will be of interest to small and large organizations in manufacturing, service, storage, or transportation that are considering implementing, self-assessing, or getting certified to an internationally recognized security management standard.
Presenter Inderjit Arora is president and CEO at Quality Management International Inc. (QMII), a global management systems consulting, auditing, and training firm. He brings more than 32 years of experience in military, mercantile marine, and civil management. Arora is also a lead instructor and consultant for security of the global supply chain. He helps companies with standards such as ISO 28000, the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
During the webinar, Arora provides an overview of the ISO 28000 standard and explains how it is vital to global organizations that require the use of process-based risk-management systems to ensure that supply chains are reliable and secure. He will discuss the structure, tangible benefits, and application of ISO 28000 and answer some key questions, including:
• Why should U.S. supply-chain organizations invest in meeting the ISO 28000 requirements, considering that they are not required by any regulations?
• Does adoption of ISO 28000 meet the requirements of both C-TPAT and the European Community’s customs bodies?
