TÜV America Expands Canadian Safety Services

Published: Tuesday, July 12, 2005 - 22:00

The Standards Council of Canada recently approved an extension to the scope of TÜV America Inc.’s accreditation to include testing services for the safety of machinery. TÜV America’s scope is now among the most comprehensive, enabling the company to offer testing services for mechanical safety, electromagnetic compatibility and electrical safety for products sold in Canada. This includes products in the following categories: occupational safety, industrial hygiene, measurement of electrical and magnetic quantities, noise emitted by machines and equipment, furnaces, lifting equipment, industrial trucks, earth-moving machinery, agricultural tractors and trailed vehicles, ventilation and air conditioning, and sports equipment.

The scope extension strengthens TÜV America’s unique CUE mark, while allows the simultaneous electrical safety testing to Canadian, U.S. and European Union directives.

“With an expansive scope and CUE mark service, TÜV America provides a distinct and inclusive option for those requiring Canadian certification,” says Ulf Schmidt, product safety services director at TÜV America.

TÜV America is a testing/certification organization that provides CE marking assistance, mechanical/electrical product safety, electromagnetic compatibility ( EMC), field evaluations, NRTL and SCC certification. TÜV provides a full suite of globally recognized ISO management system certifications including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
