(TÜVRheinland: Newtown, Connecticut) -- TÜVRheinland of North America’s electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and telecommunications product testing lab in Rochester, New York, has been approved for electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic susceptibility testing for products imported into Korea. The Radio Research Agency Korea Communications Commission, located in Seoul, Korea, confirmed the designation after a review of TÜVRheinland’s lab capabilities and testing equipment.

With this designation, TÜVRheinland’s lab is now listed as a Conformity Assessment Body under Appendix B, Phase I Procedures, of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement for Conformity Assessment of Telecommunications Equipment. The New York, office opened its doors in June 2007, after signing an agreement with Rochester-based Eastman Kodak Co. to become its primary supplier of third-party testing and certification services. The facility is equipped with product safety and EMC test equipment, which has been upgraded to meet ever-evolving global standards.
