The Standards Press of China and the American National Standards Institute recently signed an agreement to mutually distribute Chinese and U.S. standards. The SPC is the publishing division of China’s national standards body. Chinese standards will be available for electronic purchase at ANSI’s online standards store, and ANSI’s resellers will stock hard copies of China’s standards. In return, the SPC will distribute ANSI’s standards in China.
“We believe that signing this agreement with our Chinese partners will provide access to Chinese standards, thus aiding U.S. understanding of Chinese standardization practices and legal market requirements in China,” says Bob Feghali, ANSI vice president of business development and chief information officer.
“This agreement helps to build stronger cooperation between ANSI and Standards Administration of the People’s Republic of China, and we look forward to further partnership and cooperation,” says Wang Xilin, SPC vice president.
The American National Standards Institute is a private, nonprofit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system.
