Body
Six Sigma has had dramatic effects on many of the companies that have implemented it, but understanding the methodology is often difficult for those just starting the process. A new book, Six Sigma for Dummies (John Wiley & Sons, 2005), details the process in lay terms for easy understanding. Authors Craig Gygi, Neil DeCarlo and Bruce Williams explain the history of Six Sigma, its philosophy and define its various parts. In separate chapters, they systematically examine the statistical toolboxes and organizational conventions (Black Belts, Green Belts, Yellow Belts, etc.), that help readers implement Six Sigma theories as sustained practices.

Also included are demonstrations of scatter plots, linear regression, deviation reduction, design of experiments and statistical measurement. The book follows the format of all the books in the For Dummies series and includes easy-to-read boxed “Top 10” lists customized for Six Sigma.
