Rath & Strong Releases MINITAB Guide for Six Sigma/DMAIC

Published: Monday, June 28, 2004 - 22:00

Citing frequent customer frustration at the amount of work required to start a Six Sigma or DMAIC project using MINITAB software, Rath & Strong released a new guide showing industry workers the easiest way to do just that.

The new Guide to MINITAB 14 incorporates a two-level approach designed to enhance the learning experience, including a step-by-step investigative methodology that allows Six Sigma/CMAIC teams to work toward root-cause identification in a systematic way. The guide also includes a complete Six Sigma/DMAIC case study and data files that allow the team to work through Rath & Strong’s methodology and master both that and MINITAB statistical tools.

In addition, the guide covers both basic and advanced statistics. Basic statistics include an overview of box plots, dot plots, histograms, normal probability plots, Pareto charts, scatter diagrams and time series plots. Advanced statistics covered include box cox transformation, control of charts, design of experiments, factorial plots, hypothesis testing, matrix plots and regression analysis. The publication also teaches how to format data in Excel (using Excel Pivot Tables) for MINITAB. For more information, visit www.rathstrong.com.
