Body

The implementation of Six Sigma in financial services is the topic of a new book written by two leading consultants.

Six Sigma for Financial Services: How Leading Companies are Driving Results Using Lean, Six Sigma and Process Management (McGraw-Hill, 2007), by Roland Hayler and Michael Nichols, demonstrates how major financial institutions are using lean and Six Sigma to deliver dramatic business improvements. Nichols is president of Nichols Quality Associates and the former director of Six Sigma design at American Express. Hayler is vice president of international operations at Pivotal Resources Inc.

The authors use detailed examples of lean, Six Sigma and business process management at such major organizations as American Express, Bank of America, Barclays Stockbrokers, Development Bank of Singapore, Fidelity, JPMorgan Chase and Wachovia to illustrate the use of the methodologies in the industry.
