(CoorsTek: Grand Junction, Colorado) -- CoorsTek Inc., a technical ceramics manufacturer and a long-time supplier to the electronics industry, has received an Outstanding Supplier Award for the second consecutive year from global sensor components manufacturer Kavlico Corp.

Every Kavlico supplier receives monthly reviews of specific performance ratings including quality, on-time performance, service, and pricing. “Quality is the highest ranking element of our overall supplier rating,” states Scott Aldridge, director of supply chain management for Kavlico Corp. “In 2006, CoorsTek averaged a 96 percent overall rating and consistently ranks among the highest of our diverse supplier list.”

“We are proud to be recognized by Kavlico as a valued business partner,” says Doug Coors, vice president of operations for CoorsTek. “This award further validates the investment CoorsTek has made in quality, organization, and manufacturing refinements,” he continues, speaking of the CoorsTek OpX operational excellence program, which combines Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and other proven methodologies to optimize operations.

In addition to the award, CoorsTek was chosen for a long-term contract to supply ceramic components for capacitive pressure sensors and for multi-layer ceramic substrates.
