U.S. Commerce Secretary to Host June Forum

(ANSI, New York) -- On June 11–12, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Carlos M. Gutierrez will host the inaugural Americas Competitiveness Forum in Atlanta. The forum will provide a venue for government ministers from the Western Hemisphere to come together with leaders from the private sector, academia and non-governmental organizations to explore cutting-edge ideas and best practices in several key areas.The forum is designed to serve as a launching pad for continued, practical dialogue on competitiveness in the Western Hemisphere. Roundtable discussions will showcase creative and effective programs from the region that relate to four main tracks: sparking and sustaining innovation; designing successful supply chain strategies; fostering small business development and growth; and creating solutions in education and workforce development. By highlighting practical examples, the ACF intends to provide information for decision makers to take steps to strengthen competitiveness in each country and in the region in general.

“The Americas Competitiveness Forum is an excellent opportunity to work on policies and strategies that attract investment and promote free enterprise throughout the region,” explains Secretary Gutierrez.
