(TÜV SÜD America: Peabody, MA) -- TÜV SÜD America Inc. announces that it has been granted accreditation to offer certifications to AS9100:2009 Rev. C and AS9120:2009 Rev. A.

The revised standards were issued in 2009 and requirements for the transition to the new versions were published by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). Companies certified to AS9100B:2008 or AS9120:2002 must upgrade to the AS9100:2009 Rev. C and AS9120:2009 Rev. A versions to maintain aerospace certification.

This applies to any audits done on or after July 1, 2011.

Benefits of certification to AS9100:2009 and AS9120:2009 include:

• Qualification to be considered as an aerospace supplier
• Reduced costs as a result of improved product reliability
• Improved process control and flow
• Better documentation of processes
• Greater employee quality awareness to foster continual improvement
• Reductions in product scrap, reworks, and rejections

The company expects that its entire team of auditors will have completed internal training to the new standards by June 2011. All audits conducted after July 1, 2011 must be to the new standards.
