Mohsen Sohi, Ph.D., president and CEO of Freudenberg-NOK, was recently inducted into the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing Academy. Sohi joined Freudenberg-NOK in 2003 and since then has committed to re-energizing the company’s lean benchmark program, called Growtth (an acronym for Get Rid of Waste Through Tean Harmony). He has worked to integrate lean principles, Six Sigma practices and information technology to extend continuous improvement across the entire Freudenberg-NOK enterprise.
He was inducted by Ross E. Robson, executive director of the Shingo Prize; and Bruce Hamilton, vice chair of the business board of examiners, during the 17th annual Shingo Prize Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sohi was a keynote speaker at the conference, where he discussed Freudenberg-NOK’s lean experience.
“It’s a great honor to be inducted into the Shingo Prize Academy among the most highly skilled practitioners in lean,” Sohi said. “I accept this recognition on behalf of all my Freudenberg-NOK associates, who work everyday to evolve our lean program and continue to take the company to the next level.”
