San Diego Hosts 2004 APICS International Conference

Supply chain and inventory management professionals will gather in San Diego Oct. 10-13 for the 2004 APICS International Conference and Exposition.

The conference will feature speeches from industry leaders and authors, along with more than 100 educational workshops addressing enterprise quality management, lean strategies, project management, small business issues, emerging trends, personal and professional development and supply chain management tools and essentials. Other conference highlights include:

  • "Competing Through Networks," a three-part educational series that focuses on APICS’ principles of supply chain management: velocity, variability, vocalization, visualization and value.
  • "The True Value of Leadership: Ideas and Trends in Supply Chain Management," presented by industry leaders who have demonstrated their skills through effective decision-making and actions.
  • An exposition featuring leaders in software, systems, services and information technology for e-commerce solutions, supply chain management, MRP/ERP, automated electronic data collection, planning and scheduling, training, CRM, systems integration, RFID/wireless, logistics and distribution and business consulting.
  • Plant tours of nine facilities: Callaway Golf, Dimension One Spas, dj Orthopedics, Elgar Electronics Corp., Kyocera Wireless Corp., NASSCO, Teamwork Athletic Apparel, Unisys Supply Chain Operations and the USS Midway.
