The upcoming Quality Institute for Healthcare: Redesigning Systems of Care conference will feature seminars and keynote addresses from several important members of the quality community. The conference, to be held Feb. 14–16 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, is designed to detail the quality tools and practices being used to improve the quality of health care. The instruction offered at the Quality Institute will introduce and provide a deeper understanding of quality systems to equip attendees to redesign, or simply fine-tune their quality assurance processes.
Keynote speakers include Brent James, executive director of Intermountain Health Care’s Institute for Health Care Delivery Research, who will speak about the effect of system design on pay-for-performance programs; G. Richard Hastings, president and CEO of the 2003 Baldrige Award-winning St. Lukes’ Health System, who will address the role of leadership on health care quality; and Don E. Detmer, president and CEO of the American Medical Informatics Association, who will speak about the effects of health information technology on health care quality improvement.
