Three new judges were recently elected to the 2005 Minnesota Quality Award Panel of Judges. The new judges are Debra Bowers, Independent School District 283 superintendent; Mary Ann Nelson, Minnesota Department of Education assistant commissioner of academic excellence; and Rachelle Schultz, Winona Health president and CEO. The primary role of the panel is to determine levels of recognition for organizations participating in the Minnesota Quality award, and to provide coaching and feedback to evaluation teams as they conduct award assessments.

“With the election of three new judges, the 15-member panel of judges now better represents the diversity of our economy,” says Brian Lassiter, Minnesota Council for Quality president. “The panel includes representatives from the manufacturing, service, health care, education and public sectors. They represent leaders in their fields, and have a tremendous depth of knowledge and management experience upon which to judge the quality and performance levels of Minnesota organizations.”
