The National Standards Authority of Ireland is the first registrar in the world to receive accreditation to provide registration for the new EIA/ECCB-954 standard. The new standard specifies the technical requirements that manufactures must meet to ensure there are no hazardous substances in their products. EIA/ECCB-954-registered organizations will have to document their production processes in a controlled and consistent manner, facilitate verification of compliance to applicable requirements and regulations, allow efficient and effective compliance checks, and harmonize compliance and enforcement methods.

“As a supervising inspectorate for the EICQ/ECCB, NSAI can meet the growing needs of our existing clients and expand its value-added services in today’s ever-changing market place,” says Chris Morrell, NSAI development manager.
