Several Ohio health agencies are mounting an effort to improve the quality of health care in the state.Greater Cincinnati Health Council and 17 of its member hospitals will partner with the Ohio Hospital Association to launch the Greater Cincinnati Hospital Quality Improvement Project, reported the Cincinnati Business Courier.
As part of the project, hospitals will examine performance measures and tools for their facilities to find community benchmarks against which to measure the quality of care they provide. Project teams will oversee individual parts of the projects, while a quality council made up of hospital CEOs, medical directors and business leaders will provide additional oversight. A steering committee will analyze collected data and the Ohio Hospital Association will provide project management and consulting services.
