General Electric Co. recently announced the acquisition of Everest VIT Inc., a provider of remote visual inspection equipment for industrial applications. Everest VIT, a subsidiary of Welch Allyn, will become part of GE Inspection Technologies, which is based in Huerth, Germany. GE reports that the acquisition will allow it to expand its nondestructive testing capabilities to include remote visual inspection. Everest VIT is based in Flanders, New Jersey. Bruce Pellegrino, Everest VIT’s president, will continue to lead the company after the acquisition.
“The employees of Everest VIT and I are very excited to become part of GE Inspection Technologies,” says Pellegrino. “Our combined depth of applications knowledge and experience, as well as our solutions-based approach to inspection needs, will be a tremendous benefit to all of our customers. Our now-larger toolbox of NDT modalities will help enhance our customers’ safety, quality and productivity.”
