In a wrap-up of the American Society for Quality’s World Conference for Quality and Improvement, ASQ officials reported the conference a big success.A total of 1,927 people attended the event, which was held in May in Seattle. ASQ reports that book sales increased 50 percent over last year and notes that the extra keynote sessions were appreciated by attendees. Highlights of the event included the introduction of 19 new ASQ Fellows, the International Team Excellence Competition and the induction of Dr. Yoshio Kondo as ASQ’s 23rd honorary member.
“It was a great blend of business sessions, education opportunities and tours to Seattle-area attractions,” says Danny Duhan, ASQ president. “It also allowed attendees to make new contacts and renew old friendships. Once again, ASQ’s World Conference presented the best that the world of quality has to offer.”
Next year’s conference will be held in Milwaukee.
