An average of 300,000 American service and professional jobs will be sent overseas by 2015, so the American National Standards Institute will host a conference to help organizations prepare to do business as the global business climate shifts. “Conference for Certification of Personnel: Facilitating Trade in Services Around the World” will be held Oct. 6 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C., as part of World Standards Week 2005 events. It’s designed to prepare registration organizations and registration holders for the global economy’s trend toward labor offshoring and the mobility of workers.
Featured speakers include George Anastasopoulos, president of the International Personnel Certification Association; Bernie Ascher, former director of services of the Office of the United States Trade Representative; and Marjorie Peace-Lenn, Center for Quality Assurance in International Education executive director.
The American National Standards Institute is a private, nonprofit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system.
