Body
The Automotive Industry Action Group’s AutoTech 2005 will be held Aug. 29–Sept. 1, and will include a substantial quality component. This year’s theme is “Streamlining the Industry,” featuring more than 70 educational sessions in five areas: quality, OEM requirements, collaborative engineering, electronic commerce, and supply chain initiatives and automatic identification. There will be a town hall-style workshop entitled “The Journey to Safe and Lean,” along with presentations from quality executives from DaimlerChrysler Corp., Ford Motor Co., General Motors and Toyota Corp. In addition, Dr. Won Suk Cho, Hyundai Kia America Technical Center Inc. president, will speak about his company’s focus on quality. Other quality-related seminars and workshops will focus on request for implementation date, production part-approval process (PPAP) fourth edition and supply chain improvement initiatives.

Now in its 18th year, more than 100 exhibitors and approximately 3,500 industry professionals are expected to attend AutoTech this year. It’ll be held at the Cobo Conference Center in Detroit.
