Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto—a significant Catholic pilgrimage site in Lourdes, France, visited by nearly 6 million people each year—was digitally documented on Jan. 29, 2013, by CyArk, a nonprofit organization in Oakland, California, whose mission is to preserve cultural heritage, and Organization & Networks (ON), a master planning and architectural consulting firm in South Korea.

ON provides creative design and construction solutions for projects with cultural, religious, and social significance. Last summer, the company proposed a prayer sanctuary for the Catholic Diocese of Cheong-ju, South Korea, featuring a detailed, accurate, life-size replica of Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto. As the project manager for this effort, it was my job to figure out how.
