At next month’s WESTEC conference, Verisurf Software Inc. will demonstrate how the company has combined first-article inspection with metrology solutions to allow quick model-based definition (MBD) inspection.

Verisurf MBD uses the company’s CAD/CAM-based inspection software with portable CMMs from companies such as FARO Technologies Inc. and ROMER, allowing inspectors to complete first-article inspection quicker and easier than ever before. The approach was led by advancements in metrology and the need of aerospace and automotive manufacturers for an integrated MBD inspection process.

The software includes built-in MBD capabilities and allows for the import and use of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and constraints from CAD systems such as Catia V5 and Unigraphics.

WESTEC will be held March 26–29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
