RAND Worldwide recently announced its upcoming purchase of CADVisions Inc., a consultancy and business software provider.

RAND provides technology solutions for information systems and engineering design, and reports that the transaction is part of its overall growth strategy. The acquisition will also allow RAND to expand its IMAGINiT Technologies business unit, which provides the technical support, training and consulting services it collectively calls Autodesk. The deal is expected to close on or around April 1.

“Our acquisition of CADVisions enables us to extend the geographical reach of IMAGINiT, our Autodesk operations, by establishing a significant presence within the rapidly growing Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma markets,” says Frank Baldesarra, RAND worldwide president and CEO. “CADVisions’ extensive experience, as well as its reputation for providing superior service, has allowed it to build and maintain loyal and long-term relationships, with more than 80 percent of its revenue coming from repeat business with existing customers.”

CADVisions, founded in 1985, was one of the first firms to use computer-aided design to produce drawings.
