(EASI: Milford, MI) -- Electronic Applications Specialists Inc. (EASI) announces a pneumatic gauge system that makes dimensional air gauging easy. Our new air electronic converter (AEC) has many advantages over other air gauging systems.

  • Repeatable linear measurements from zero clearance to 0.010 in., single jet (0 to 0.020 in. for diameter)
  • Measurements can be made with short bursts of air (e.g., 1 second) to save compressed air.
  • It can operate from 10 psi for small clearances to 50 psi or more for larger clearances.
  • It is available in single outlet and dual outlets for differential complex measurements.
  • Single master calibration (no air flow equal to zero clearance dimension)
  • Simplified tooling design and machining (no undercuts or grooves)
  • The basic model operates from 5 VDC and outputs a zero to five volt signal.
  • Pulse width modulated output is standard in basic models.

There are none of the inconveniences of existing gauging systems, such as:

  • No confusing adjustments to change
  • No precision or adjustable orifices that could get clogged
  • No bleed or balancing circuit that can waste compressed air
  • Negligible pressure drop in the measuring circuit
  • No need for precise pressure regulation
  • No moving parts

Models will be available to provide direct replacement for our 1-AEC and 2-AEC. New models with 16-bit serial outputs are coming once bus structure and coding are defined.

Customer input is welcome on this air gauging product or for suggestions on any of our products. Please e-mail Michel Dechape, president EASI, at mdechape@e-a-s-inc.com, or call (248) 685-8283.
