(Carl Zeiss: Oberkochen, Germany) -- Carl Zeiss now offers the fifth generation of contact scanning with the new VAST Performance Kit. The kit is optionally available for the top-of-the-line PRISMO, CenterMax, and GageMax coordinate measuring machines and incorporates various elements of optimized hardware and software to increase CMM performance. A new generation of active probes delivers high speed and thus improved measuring productivity. This version of the VAST Performance Kit offers reduced measuring time for many applications.

Scanning can now be used effectively even for features with interrupted contours. The fast stylus change further reduces total measuring time. Simplified programming and shorter measuring times enable optimal use, allowing more measuring jobs in less time.
