Since 2009, there has been a recovery in the white-light scanner market, and the manufacturing industry and metrology vendors acknowledge this. However, research indicates that there is still uncertainty among end-user spending.

White-light scanner end-users are increasingly becoming aware and knowledgeable about white-light systems and their capabilities. End-users are considering white-light scanners as a way to tackle technological advancements and cope with evolving technologies. Market participants, on the other hand, are focusing on demonstrating how their products can be used as complete solutions rather than stand-alone products.

Traditionally, white-light scanners were primarily used in digitizing and reverse-engineering processes. However, with technological advances driving customer confidence with respect to white-light scanners, these systems are also increasingly being used in industrial inspection applications.
