During this past Friday’s episode of QDL, we presented two great interviews, both revolving around standards and certification, plus a piece about analytics, and a lively off-script about the responsibilities of media companies like Facebook when it comes to protecting user data. Here’s a closer look at what we discussed:
Interview with Scott Paton of Exemplar Global
We were joined in the studio by Scott Paton, business development manager of Exemplar Global and former Quality Digest publisher. In this wide-ranging discussion, we covered what users think of recent changes to standards certification, the qualities of a good auditor, and Exemplar Global’s upcoming International Auditor Symposium event.
Data, information, and analytics are not the same thing; in this piece, we discussed what organizations can do to convert the data they’re gathering into information that makes sense and, ultimately, analytics that they can use to move the needle. Communicating how best to interpret and use those analytics for everyone in the organization is key to success.
“First ISO Health and Safety Management System Standard Is Released”
In this interview with Chad Kymal of Omnex Inc., we discussed the importance of the brand-new ISO 45001 standard for occupational safety and health.
Off-Script: Facebook and Privacy
Facebook is facing heat for its loosey-goosey policies regarding the protection of customers’ private data. In this week’s Off-Script segment, Dirk asked what this means for media companies, and whether users care (or, mostly, even notice).
