(HGI: Orlando, FL) -- Harrington Group International (HGI), in partnership with Darwin Ecosystem (an IBM Watson partner) and the University of Central Florida’s International Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Research (ICAMR), has started the Global Foundations of Quality Survey and research initiative.
HGI is a global leader in providing proven software and professional services for business process improvement and quality management. The 2017 Global Foundations of Quality Survey will target CEOs, COOs, and other C-suite and top-level executives. The survey will employ the latest in cognitive computing and analysis with the help of Darwin Ecosystem’s proprietary Projected Personality Interpreter (PPI) and IBM Watson. For the first time, HGI will harness the power of Watson and the PPI to develop an “executive quality management personality.”
Cognitive computing and predictive analytics will become standard tools for companies that want to influence the future. Quality management has long been a cornerstone of that pursuit. HGI believes that bringing big data analytics and quality management together as one is the best method for C-suite executives to gauge their own performance and attitudes against their counterparts.
Foundations 2017 will examine executive participation in quality management and continuous improvement. HGI will gauge the flow of that involvement from the executive level to manufacturing floors as well as the stream of information from the bottom to the top. Foundations 2017’s goal is to provide companies with the latest data to help make quality manufacturing a pillar of the corporate future.
Foundations 2017 will also audit the use of technology to bring about meaningful change inside companies that are dedicated to total quality improvement. HGI expects to identify the traits of what it calls “Quality MVPs” (most valuable players). These companies will be determined by our advisory committee made up of some of the leading experts and scholars in the quality management field.
HGI believes that quality management must be a cornerstone of corporate strategy to ensure long-term success in any marketplace.
“Continuous improvement results in higher average prices and lower production costs when applied from the highest levels of management,” says Harrington Group International CEO Rick Harrington, Jr. “If production managers, general managers, vice presidents, presidents and CEOs lack the knowledge of theories and concepts of excellence in quality management, they can’t readily teach and coach their workforces.”
The survey will include questions about the importance of total quality management and will be directed at CEOs, COOs, and other executives of the highest level possible to gauge how involved C-suite management is in continuous improvement efforts. Executives will remain anonymous if they choose but will be encouraged to compare their own results in the survey with other executives.
After the survey is complete, the cognitive computing and quality personality analysis will continue, and companies will be invited to test their managers and employees against the same benchmarks established in Foundations 2017.
HGI expects the Foundations 2017 database of quality leaders will grow exponentially, and subsequent reports will draw new connections and conclusions about quality management and how it’s leveraged at the most profitable levels.
