More than 18 companies recently announced support for Microsoft Corp’s new Digital Pharma solution, a framework designed for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries to improve their performance. The solution is applicable to many areas in the pharmaceutical value chain, from drug development and data collection to business intelligence and marketing effectiveness. Aligned with Microsoft’s Digital Pharma vision and based on open standards, the solutions are built on Microsoft platforms, including the Microsoft .NET framework.

“Our partners play an integral part in Digital Pharma,” says Tim Smokoff, managing director for Microsoft Healthcare and Life Sciences. “Built on Microsoft technologies, partner solutions provide an innovative and practical way of enabling pharmaceutical companies to reduce complexity and create collaborative environments that will foster a better and faster decision-making process.”

The supporting companies made their announcement at the Pharmaceutical Technology Congress. They included: Accenture, Convansys Corp., DataLabs Inc. HP, Immedient Corp., Manhattan Associates Inc., Meridio, Merit Solutions Software, Motion Computing Inc., and OnSphere Corp.
