Virtek Vision and Baykal Machinery Sign Distribution Agreement for LaserQC

Published: Thursday, November 13, 2014 - 15:02

(Virtek: Waterloo, Canada) -- Virtek Vision International, a market leader in the field of laser-based manufacturing technologies, has announced a signed distribution agreement with Baykal Machinery for the Virtek LaserQC inspection system

Baykal is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of sheet metal fabrication machinery, specializing in press brakes, shears, notchers, punching machines, laser cutting systems, plasma cutting machines, waterjet cutting, and vertical machining centers. The addition of the LaserQC to the Baykal portfolio will expand the reach of their machinery products into the quality control departments of their current customer base, as well as to new prospects. Headquartered in Bursa, Turkey, Baykal will distribute the LaserQC 800, 1200, and AFM inspection systems through regional offices and appointed dealers.

With an evolution of more than 15 years and more than 1,000 systems installed worldwide, LaserQC is a family of rapid inspection systems that employs lasers to measure the accuracy of two-dimensional and formed parts to very tight tolerances. Advantageous for sheet metal and other manufacturing environments to improve quality control and reduce waste, LaserQC's intuitive user-interface allows all cutting and punch machine operators to quickly become fully proficient in proofing their own parts, removing the quality control bottleneck. The system is designed for first-article inspection, quality reporting (SPC, ISO, lean, etc.), and reverse engineering.

“We are pleased to have entered into a distribution agreement with Baykal for LaserQC,” says Axel Rieckmann, director of sales EMEA & Asia Pacific for Virtek. “With their extensive range of sheet metal machinery, the LaserQC inspection system is a valuable addition to help sheet metal manufacturers increase production time and reduce waste and rework with first article inspection. Baykal has a leading share of Turkey’s machine industry market, and is established as a well-known brand worldwide.”

About Baykal Machinery

Baykal is currently represented in over 100 countries worldwide through appointed dealers. In the base market of Turkey, Baykal sheet metal working machines have traditionally commanded a leading market share thanks to the company’s pioneering role in the development of Turkey’s machine industry and its never-lessening emphasis on quality and service.
