Body

(Hexagon Metrology Inc.: North Kingston, Rhode Island) -- ROMER Inc., a Hexagon Metrology company, has released the ultra-portable INFINITE 5012, a 1.2-meter (4-foot) model of its flagship measuring arm line. With all the performance and flexibility of its larger siblings, the 5012 excels at small jobs where its lightweight and small footprint are required. Possible applications include benchtop measuring wherever needed, CAD-Compare or quick dimensional checks inside a machine tool, desktop engineering, and more.

Featuring WiFi connectivity and onboard battery power, the INFINITE 5012 delivers true “go anywhere” portability without cables. Instead of a counterbalance, as on the larger-size INFINITE models, the 5012 features an integrated tungsten counterweight which delivers light-touch ergonomics and fluid motion, making the unit effortless to use.  Automatic probe detection, a feature of all ROMER arms, allows quick probe changes without recalibration. Finally, ROMER’s patented “infinite rotation” means that a user never has to stop measuring due to reaching the end of the arm’s travel.
