The American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians Inc. will host its 29th-annual Health Care Quality and Patient Safety Conference this fall in Rosemont, Illinois.

“Does Quality Pay?” will feature a thorough examination of the effects of quality-assurance programs on the health care industry. It will be held Oct. 28 at the Embassy Suites Hotel Chicago O’Hare.

More than 400 health care professionals are expected to attend the event. Speakers include Carolyn Clancy, director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality; Carole Flamm, Blue Cross and Blue Shield office of clinical affairs senior medical director; and Trent Haywood, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services office of clinical standards and quality deputy chief medical director, among others.

“In one day, attendees will have the chance to hear what hospitals, pharmacists, government, medical societies, purchasers and payers have done to address [health care quality],” says conference co-chair Joel V. Brill.
