In a strategic partnership, Fuji Machine Manufacturing Co. and Cogiscan will develop and market a new RFID technology for Fuji machines. The companies jointly developed the RFID Smart Reader kit for Fuji’s XP-series machines. The kit will complement the existing RFID kits for the CP- and IP-series machines. Integrating Cogiscan’s RFID technology is compatible with any model and vintage Fuji machine, and it can be retrofitted to machines and feeders already in the field.

Fuji and Cogiscan have seamlessly integrated Fuji’s XP machine and Cogiscan’s RFID system. The resulting product will be combined with Fuji’s Fujitrax product and marketed as the RF Feeder System. The product will be demonstrated for the first time at Nepcon in Shanghai April 4–7.

“The XP platform was developed for the very competitive multirange market,” says Satoshi Inoue. “The Cogiscan RFID smart reader technology was the perfect solution because this is a low-cost technology that can be retrofitted to any vintage Fuji feeder and placement machine.”

The technology can track, trace, and control feeders and components on and off the assembly line, without human intervention.
