Intertek Automotive Services, which operates the first commercial automotive test lab of its kind in China, is now offering buzz, squeak and rattle (BSR) testing at its facility in Shanghai. The company uses a newly purchased MB Dynamics low-noise vibration system for the BSR testing. IAS is the first fully independent test lab in China to offer the service.

IAS has also announced that it plans to install three EMC/EMI chambers, as well as electrostatic discharge and bulk-current injection capabilities early this year, which will allow the facility to test virtually all automotive OEM EMC standards. The equipment is also capable of performing radiated-emission testing up to 18GHz and radiated-immunity testing from 200V/m to 200MHz-8GHz.

“Intertek Automotive Services has expanded our services at a rapid pace since opening the laboratory in July 2005,” says Brett Margolis, general manager. “We’re looking forward to continuing our expansion well into 2006.”
