Geodetic Systems Inc. recently launched V-STARS/E4X, an entry-level digital photogrammetry system with a wide range of applications. V-STARS/E4X is designed for applications that don’t require the highest level of accuracy or expandability provided by other Geodetic Systems camera systems. V-STARS/E4X is highly mobile and well-suited for fast, noncontact measurement of large objects in production environments where downtime is critical, or in industrial settings with less-than-ideal environments. The new system includes a Nikon D2X camera that has been reengineered to include advanced calibration techniques. The camera also features a 12-million pixel color CMOS sensor, optional wireless operation, an LCD screen, TTL viewfinder, custom-calibrated lens, removable battery and digital storage. The V-STARS/E4X also includes a notebook computer, software and various optional accessories.
