Body
Globalization and the effects of the Chinese manufacturing will be among the topics at the American National Standards Institute’s second annual leadership conference. The conference will be held Nov. 9–10 in Phoenix, and will bring together worldwide representatives from the International Organization for Standardization, the International Electrotechnical Commission and other standards-setting organizations. It will focus on the collaborative development of strategies and tactics on key issues involving global standards.

Among various panel discussions and presentations, a portion of the agenda will focus on the emergence of the People’s Republic of China as a major player in the world economy. There will be an opportunity to work with Chinese delegates in ISO and IEC standards-setting committees, and concurrent breakout sessions will examine current issues being addressed by ISO’s Technical Management Board and the IEC’s Standardization Management Board. In addition, Mark Hurwitz, ANSI president and CEO, will moderate an open discussion session

The American National Standards Institute is a private, nonprofit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system.
