Body
CenterBeam recently completed another phase of an ambitious Six Sigma training plan. The IT outsourcing company is training all of its staff in the fundamentals of lean and Six Sigma. While everyone in the company has received Six Sigma training, about 15 percent of its staff has graduated as lean Six Sigma Black Belts, Green Belts or Champions.

“Today, everyone at CenterBeam is focused on constant process improvement,” says Kevin Francis, CenterBeam president and CEO. “Everyone understands at least the core concepts of lean Six Sigma and is integrating this discipline into everything they do.”

To help with the tactical implementation of the training, Jenny Collins was appointed CenterBeam’s lean Six Sigma manager. Before joining CenterBeam, Collins was a leader of Sun Microsystem’s Six Sigma initiative and presented a paper on process modeling at a logistics symposium in Spain.

“Commitment from executives and top management is vital to the success of a lean Six Sigma program,” says Collins. “The concept of training the entire workforce and dedication of CenterBeam’s senior leaders sets us apart from every implementation I’ve led and studied.”
