Body
Sypris Test & Measurement is now offering a new course on total expanded measurement uncertainty for lay people and technicians. Unlike many courses that require previous knowledge on the subject, Sypris’ new course starts with a review of the basic concepts of uncertainty measurement. No special software purchase is required and the course provides a common-sense approach using Microsoft Excel to understand and determine total expanded measurement uncertainties.

“Our measurement uncertainty training is one more offering designed to make Sypris Test & Measurement the strategic, go-to source for all aspects of calibration,” says Mark Dillard, Sypris’ calibration division director of sales and marketing. “This includes calibration services, information, training, logistical support and other calibration-related services for our customers.”

The eight-hour course provides an understanding of Type A/B uncertainties, manufacturer specifications, errors associated with the different measurements, confidence levels, degrees of freedom, student T-tables and combining uncertainties. It’s facilitated by Mark Lapinskes, an uncertainty expert with 23 years of experience in metrology and metrology training; and is offered in Orlando, Florida, and on location by special arrangement.
