The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the National Quality Forum are now accepting applications for the 2005 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Awards. The annual award recognizes health care workers and organizations that make significant contributions to patient care and quality. There are several categories for the Eisenberg Award: individual achievement, research achievement, innovation in patient safety and quality at a national or regional level, innovation in patient safety and quality at a local or organization level, system innovation, and advocacy. The deadline for nominations is May 27. Nomination forms are available at www.jcaho.org or www.qualityforum.org.
