CVI Laser Inc., an Albuquerque-based designer, supplier and manufacturer of precision optics, recently received registration to ISO 9001 and now plans to further improve by implementing lean and Six Sigma principles. “We have been streamlining our manufacturing workflows, improved processes and practices to increase yields and product quality,” says Mark West, CVI Laser vice president of operations. “We’re now starting to incorporate lean manufacturing and Six Sigma processes in our Albuquerque facility.”

“This is a great achievement for our facility in New Mexico,” says Jim Phelps, CVI quality manager. “Our people have worked very hard for the past year to get the systems and processes in place to earn our ISO 9001 registration.”

Serving semiconductor, biotech, industrial, commercial and research industries, CVI combines 30 years of optics manufacturing expertise with precision machining and mechanical design to produce integrated optomechanical assemblies.
