Leica Geosystems recently received Frost & Sullivan’s Industrial Automation Product Innovation of the Year award. Frost & Sullivan, a growth consulting firm, gave Leica Geosystems the award for its innovations in the hand-held metrology device market. “By innovating leading-edge concepts, Leica Geosystems has pioneered industrial measurement applications that have the potential to emerge as best practices across several industries,” says Sath Rao, Frost & Sullivan industry manager. “Customers already report positive results which confirm Leica Geosystems’ technology innovation and application expertise in the manufacturing segment.”

Walter Mittelholzer, president of Leica Geosystems’ metrology division, says he is honored to receive the award. “It recognizes the efforts we have undertaken in solving challenges our customers are confronted with in solving complex measurement tasks. It was a dream many metrologists had for years to just walk around with a hand-held probe and take 3-D measurements wherever they needed.”
